What is the City of Jurupa Valley doing to prepare for upcoming winter rain conditions?

In anticipation of the upcoming winter rainfall, city staff has been working to identify and address drainage concerns throughout the area.  Mitigating draining problems often requires pavement repair, asphalt pavement berm repair, the creation of earth swales adjacent to roadways, modifying storm drains, etc.  City staff have also been canvassing the area to identify potential drainage concerns at existing draining facilities (ie: under street culverts) and cleaning debris to maintain stormwater flow.

What can I do do to prepare?

Residents and businesses are strongly encouraged to thoroughly prepare for increased rainfall.  Please refer to this tip sheet to find out what you can do to better prepare for the El Niño event and address drainage and stormwater problems long-term.
