In 2018, the City of Jurupa Valley became an "Entitlement City" for HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Becoming an "entitlement" community gave the City more direct control over how incoming CDBG funds from the Federal government are spent in areas such as infrastructure, social services, and housing initiatives.
City leadership has approved using a portion of the City's CDBG funding to implement an Affordable Homeowner Rehabilitation Grants Program (“Program”) to help low-moderate income households – who would not otherwise have funds to repair health and safety items in their homes. Please be aware that this Program provides grants for health and safety home repairs, such as plumbing, water heaters, furnaces, electrical, roofs and does not include luxury items like air conditioners or aesthetic upgrades.
Effective July 1, 2019, the City of Jurupa Valley's first round of housing rehabilitation grants will become available. In accordance with the various CDBG planning documents adopted by the City, the housing rehabilitation program will provide five (5) grants to individual homeowners for up to $10,000 each. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
